We take our food personally.

Our products have been crafted in New England using authentic recipes and quality ingredients for over 20 years. From humble beginnings on the menu of a local restaurant, our award-winning clam chowder steadily gained a loyal following in the Boston area among tourists and locals alike. That clam chowder was the first in an ever-growing line of gourmet foods including soups, sauces, seafood appetizers and more. You can find our products in restaurants all across New England—from seaside clam shacks to fine dining establishments in the city.

We’re a family-owned business that’s dedicated to our customers, our employees and our community. All our products are made in our modern Lowell, Massachusetts facility using time-tested recipes and a commitment to quality. We cook in small kettle batches using premium ingredients to show off the true flavors of New England. Also in Lowell is our company outlet store, the Chowder Factory, open six days a week.

For years, we’ve received requests to ship our soups and seafood items direct to customers across the USA. Now we are shipping some of our best-loved specialties coast to coast. Our mission is more than just giving people a taste of New England—we are giving back a portion of every sale to support the New England fishermen that help us create these iconic dishes.

Chowder Factory founder, Joe Jolly, has a passion for unique and regional foods. As a young man, he travelled throughout Latin America, Europe, and the Middle East, immersing himself in local cuisine and discovering what makes it so special to the places and people from which it comes.

This love of food brought him to open a progressive gastro pub in Western Mass, and the restaurant Networks in MIT’s student union.

Today, the focus is New England style chowders, soups, and stews. And while the restaurant ventures had their own challenges and rewards, Chowder Factory is able to share restaurant quality chowder on a much larger scale.
